Meysia Stephannie – Event Director at PT Pamerindo Indonesia, stated that the manufacturing industry consistently leads in technological innovation. However, the best technological progress occurs when human resources in the business or industrial ecosystem are well-prepared and have capabilities that exceed the level of technological progress itself.

“On this exhibition agenda, we highlight the quality of human resources improvement, which plays a critical role in applying and advancing digital technology in smart manufacturing and realising the vision of Society 5.0. Society 5.0 lays the groundwork for positive transformation, promoting increased efficiency, inclusiveness, and sustainability within an industrial context,” Meysia clarified.

Currently, human resources in manufacturing must persist in enhancing their skills and capacities to meet the complexity of market demand.”

Digital human resources, technology, and infrastructure can boost global competitiveness and contribute to national economic growth. The advancement of digital human resources is at a crucial stage, as highlighted in research conducted by a company specializing in cloud computing-based services and a global performance management consulting firm in August 2022. It notes that the percentage of workers with digital skills in Indonesia is 27%, comparatively lower than other countries in the Asia Pacific region.

Fanky Christian – Indonesian ICT Business Association (APTIKNAS) emphasized that, as a crucial measure in achieving the Society 5.0 vision, every industry participant must persist in cultivating their mindset, enhancing their potential, and refining their digital skills to become proactive and adept users of digital technology. The synergy of technology and human resources will pave the way for high productivity and strategic plans in addressing future challenges in the manufacturing industry.
